The 2018 New Shoots will showcase the creative, photographic talents of members of U3A Melbourne City – Australia’s first University of the Third Age.

“This event demonstrates how the U3A learning environment encourages people to explore their creative aspirations, and provides an opportunity to display their works in public”, said former U3A Melbourne City President, Jill Thompson.

“Up to 30 photographers will be exhibiting, including some encouraged by attending the digital photography courses we have run during the last couple of years. Street, landscape, portrait, macro, still life and botanical photography are among the genres represented.

“This will be the fourth year the U3A Melbourne City has staged this exhibition and it is intended to be an annual event that celebrates just one of the multitude of ways in which U3A makes life so much more interesting after a life of formal work.

“U3A embodies the principles of life-long education and the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake, in an atmosphere of mutual learning and teaching”.

We acknowledge the very generous support of AMP Capital which has made the Collins Place Gallery available for this exhibition.
